This weekend will mark 77 years since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Starting this Friday, we hope you will join the Hiroshima and Nagasaki prefectures, as well as a broad coalition of institutions and individuals, in demonstrating growing public support for a world without nuclear weapons – by sharing a paper crane on your social media with the hashtag #CranesForOurFuture.
We’ve prepared a rich social media toolkit with video, gifs, graphics and copy to support anyone hoping to mark the upcoming anniversaries: https://www.cranesforourfuture.org/share

Right now, governments are meeting at the UN to talk about nuclear disarmament.

#CranesForOurFuture #NPTRevCon
Yesterday in his UN RevCon speech, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida held a paper crane in his hands and renewed his call for a world without nuclear weapons.
With the UN conference underway, this weekend offers an opportunity to show many “in the room” that everyone outside the UN building cares deeply about a future free from nuclear threats.
- TikTokers like Dara Starr Tucker and Andy Jiang have already started to build a drumbeat for #CranesForOurFuture across social media – generating hundreds of thousands of views.
- Nearly 40 organizations around the world have pledged to join from the UN Office of Disarmament Affairs and UN Foundation to Global Zero and Union of Concerned Scientists.
- We’ll also be joined by the Indigo Girls, designer Cythnia Rowley and a handful of authors and independent bookstores.
