During the Second Hour we will consider the SAYMA State of the Meeting queries:The SAYMA Ministry and Nurture committee has composed queries to be considered by Monthly Meetings as they write their State of the Meeting reports. The queries help the State of the Meeting reports to focus on issues that are relevant to SAYMA, and help create a focus for all the reports.
As we consider the queries, let us remember the words of George Fox:
“. . . All Friends mind that which is eternal, which gathers your hearts together up to the Lord and lets you see that you are written in one another’s heart.” — George Fox, from Letter 24 (1653)
• How have our practices in meetings for worship and business helped move us toward or away from unity as a spiritual community?
• How have we as a spiritual community encouraged each other to answer the urgings of Spirit? What kept us from encouraging each other?
• How have we as a meeting and as individuals used our worldly activities as acts of witness to answer that of Spirit in others?
