Looking Back on the 2025 Hiroshima Remembrance

Thanks to all who participated in the Columbia Friends Meeting’s annual Hiroshima Remembrance event on Wednesday, August 6, from 6:30-7:30 PM at Columbia Friends Meeting. This free community gathering commemorated the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings in Japan as well as the many years of advocacy for nuclear disarmament.

On August 6 and August 9, 1945, the United States became the first nation to use nuclear weapons against civilian populations in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. This year’s remembrance featured distinguished speakers addressing the ongoing nuclear threat and the importance of peace advocacy.
